Do you know that only 21% of people over the age of 65 have access to the internet? Many seniors don't have a computer or internet connection because they believe that it is a luxury that they can't afford, aren't aware of the benefits, or perhaps don't think that they are up to the challenge.
There are some seniors that stand to gain more than most. A computer connected to the internet can enhance the users' communication with family and friends, at home and abroad. This can be particularly important for individuals living alone or with reduced physical mobility, such as people with a disability or who perhaps no longer drive. Did you know that only 56% of seniors over the age of 75 retain their drivers license?
Fortunately there exist organisations that assist seniors by providing computers, software, an internet connection, training and support at low cost, enabling seniors and pensioners to get online and make the most of what the internet can bring.
